Delivery app fees for UK takeaways.

What Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo charge, taken from their own partner pages, and how to work out what the apps really cost your shop.

In short

Uber Eats publishes its UK fees: 30% of each order when Uber delivers (33% for Uber One members), 13% if you deliver yourself or the customer collects, plus a £650 activation fee, all excluding VAT. Just Eat and Deliveroo don't publish standard rates: they're agreed with each restaurant, so yours are in your contract or partner portal.

Uber Eats

Uber Eats lists these UK fees on its merchant pricing page. The percentages are of the order value and don't include VAT.

Just Eat and Deliveroo

Neither publishes a standard commission rate for UK restaurants. Rates are agreed with each restaurant and can differ for delivery and collection, so the only reliable figure is the one on your own contract.

  • Just Eat: your rate and any fees are in your partner agreement and the Just Eat Partner Centre.
  • Deliveroo: Deliveroo's partner FAQ says to visit Partner Hub Help or speak to your account manager to discuss pricing.

Working out what the apps really cost you

  1. Find your rate for each app on your contract, separately for delivery and collection.
  2. Multiply each month's app sales by that rate. On £20,000 of app sales at 15%, that's £3,000 a month.
  3. Add VAT if it applies. Uber Eats quotes its fees excluding VAT. If you're not VAT registered you can't claim that VAT back, so it's a real cost on top.
  4. Add the fixed costs: sign-up or activation fees, tablets and any marketing you pay the app for.

Keep the apps, grow your own orders

The apps are good at finding new customers. The cost comes when your regulars keep ordering through them. ServeMate gives you your own ordering website at 0% commission, and win-back notes that print with app orders and invite those customers to order direct next time. App orders can still come into the same system through HubRise for €35 a month.
